The improvement to the pedestrian gateway access to the town from the train station will deliver 6500m2 of improved pedestrian and cycle links along with improved signage and connectivity.  Supporting an improvement in the perception of the town, it will also deliver an improved sense of safety and support the realisation of £3.1m social value.
